Entertaiment refers to a wide range of activities that can be understood as fun and laughter, although many have serious purposes such as ceremonies, celebration, religious festivals or even satire. Entertainment can be adapted to any scale, from an individual who selects a private entertainment from a huge array of pre-recorded products; through a banquet arranged for two; to performances that cater for thousands and often include music, dance and visual effects.
According to Bates and Ferri (2010) entertainment can be defined as an activity understood objectively that encompasses communication between text and audience from external stimuli, offers pleasure, requires an audience and occurs in a passive form.
